Introduction:
Today marks the start of our incredible 7-day Kashmir Great Lakes trek! 🌄 We began from Gangangir, making our way to Nichnai, covering 11.5 km. The trail was fairly easy, with an army checkpost 2 km in (no photos allowed there!). Unfortunately, we faced some permit issues, causing a bit of a delay.

Along the way, we stopped at a tea point—though the tea was pricey and not the best, the experience was memorable! The weather was unpredictable, switching between rain and clear skies, so we had to put on and remove our rain ponchos constantly. There were plenty of Bhojpatra trees to rest under, offering a natural, peaceful break from the trail.

Lunch was a treat—Maggi at the only available stop, which was delicious! 😋 As we neared the campsite, we crossed boulders, streams, and rivers before reaching around 7 PM. Thankfully, our mule guy arrived early and had the tents set up for us! After preparing dinner, we ended the day with a well-deserved rest.
