James Lester Osteopathic Director Faculty

Dr. James Lester is a graduate of the Southern Regional AHEC Family Medicine Residency. He is an OMT-certified family medicine physician and director of osteopathic education for our program.

In addition to faculty, PGY III Southern Regional AHEC residents offer didactic lectures while PGY II residents research journal club articles to combine with OMT table time. PGY I residents choose a topic from the Foundations textbook to create table time. The agenda also reserves time for group and individual scholarly activity, based on osteopathic medicine as well as hospital medicine.

Dr. Lester is also responsible for student medical education for third-year students attending regional medical schools. They often return for their fourth-year rotations. Dr. Lester enjoys sharing his joy of teaching by including residents in the education of these students.
