1. Mauna Kea
Mauna Kea is located up in the northwest of the Big Island and offers a long white sandy shore with two reefs to explore. Here's the link to our full review:

2. Waialea Bay
Waialea Bay is located right below Mauna Kea and includes a cozy little beach called "Beach 69". Trees cover the "beach" for the most part which is actually really nice since you'll be sitting in the shade in between snorkel sessions. Here's the link to our full review:

3. Kahalu'u Beach Park
This snorkel spot is quite rocky with a few sandy areas here and there. The shallow center of the beach allows you to snorkel right above impressive corals and a diverse marine life. Here's the link to our full review:

4. Kealakekua Bay
This snorkel location hosts the famous Captain Cook monument. Many typical Hawaiian reef fish can be observed in this spot. Joining a boat toru is (in our opinion) a great way to explore the area. You can read more about this bay from the link we provided at Kahalu'u Beach Park.

5. Honaunau Bay
If you ever visit this spot, maybe you'll love "Two Step". This is a snorkel spot in between rocks and therefore not exactly easy to reach. Crystal clear water and a vibrant marine life make it worth the effort, as long as you're in good shape. Here's the link to our full review:

6. Black Beach
Black Beach is officially known as "Punalu'u Beach". The main attraction here is a black beach covered with loads of sea turtles. You might even observe a Hawksbill turtle while snorkeling. Here's the link to our full review:

7. Richardson Ocean Park
This park allows you to snorkel in a shallow pool as long as the weather is calm. The park is mostly rocky but there are a few small black beaches to chill at. Underwater visibility is usually great. Here's the link to our full review:
