The Asymod Ranger RCI-2995DX DARP unit offers the basic functions needed for a Hi-Fi station. With front panel controls, including a built in AM demodulator which allows you to monitor yourself in Hi-Fi. The demodulator has level (volume) and tone controls and can be completely turned off. The demodulated audio from the detector is routed to the level and tone controls and then to the radio's built in audio amplifier. The amplifier output has been configured so that the audio when operating the demodulator is fed to the headphone jack in front of the radio but not to the radio's speaker when the headphones are disconnected to avoid feedback. This allows you to listen to the received signal when in receive mode and listen to your transmitted audio while in transmit mode. No need to listen to yourself using a separate receiver. The transmitted audio can be recorded using the playback recorder and you can play yourself back. The playback recorder is a 20 second recorder which allows for recording of the incoming signal and so then you can play them back on the air. The Hi/Low RF power switch allows to switch from a single final radio to a 150W radio. The Asymod controls are all conveniently in the front panel, this provides quick access to your adjustments. As all Asymod installations, from the detectors to the audio amplifier, including the 6 kHz filter has been upgraded for Hi-Fi receive. You have your Line In connector in the rear and the Hi and Low power switch, which allows to use the radio as a standard single final radio on the OFF position or turn it on to use the radio's full power using it's built in RF amplifier. A fan noise suppression filter is included with this unit which completely removes the annoying fan noise from the 2995's audio to make your Hi-Fi experience even better!
