In this video, I explain what a Mandatory Reconsideration is and how it works. This term might sound complex, but it's simply a process where you ask the CMS to review a decision.

Key Points:

What is a Mandatory Reconsideration? It's when you request CMS to reconsider a decision, such as changes in shared care.

How to Request It: You have 31 days to appeal a decision. Make it clear by using the term "Mandatory Reconsideration" when contacting CMS.

Review Process: A different team will review your case, typically within 14 days. Both parties can agree to shorten this period.

Next Steps: If the reconsideration doesn’t go in your favor, you can apply for a child maintenance tribunal within 30 days.

Avoid Delays: Both parties can agree to waive the 14-day period to expedite the process.
