AT&SF WARBONNET'S, Aug. 14, 2024, Pacing Along the Ft. Madison Riverfront & Back to Keokuk:

This is part #3 of an EPIC CHASE of Santa Fe Warbonnets from Keokuk, IA. to Ft. Madison IA. along the Mississippi River and back .
Catch Amtrak S.W. Chief , WB, while waiting for the local crew to return with those bookended Santa Fe Warbonnets .
Amtrak across the famous swingsoan and sprinting for the Mission Style Depot !
I catch a # of other trains while waiting. Then I catch it accelerating West out of Ft. Madison at 79 mph track speed . As it goes by, I hear the local crew SB on the adjacent K-Line ( CB&Q Hannibal Sub between Burlington IA. & W. Quincy MO. ).
Catch up to them at Montrose IA. again for a spectacular sunset . They side at Montrose and wait for an NB Cement Train before proceeding.
By then, the Moon is on the rise and caught in the headlights. I weigh anchor and catch those Bonnet's one last time as they pass South of Keokuk under a SPECTACULAR MOON 🌙:
