The Faller's Corner - "Fixing a Flat", Improper Bucking Angle Escape, Proper Bucking Angle Explained

After a Saw Shop MakeOver on my 462, some of the early "out in the bush" real world testing.
Taken to the Psy-Ko SS zippkit level with my "patented" "Torque Tweak" added into the mix. We are "handling" a 32" Stihl LW bar fairly well considering that this saw has an 8 tooth, or 8 pin, sprocket. My chains are set up to be using a 7 tooth sprocket. Resultantly, my stops (rakers, riders, depth gauges, drags, etc.) are taken down quite a "fair amount" as we have seen in some of the saw-off videos. Chains running .040 to .060. We have a chain basically set up for "handling" Redwood. According to the forester, this strip is "supposed" to be comprised mostly of that variety.
My partner in this strip is Mr. Green. He is mentioned in some of the saw test videos where I'm using his mo-chine. He has cut in the PNW for a fair amount of time. In the Cascades for some of that time. He says, " this fir is hard".
And yes,,, we can hear a little chatter on the stump...
Blew the chain in the brush - back to that "real world" thing. A minor detail (albeit slightly time consuming) to get back up and running if a guy knows the trick - which we see here.
I also had the buck canted the wrong way in the spirit of showing how to "not do it". If a guy was to come at it like this, you don't want to be to far up in the cut with the bar. Having ½ the bar exposed means you will most likely be able to escape on the easier side. Full bar width in the cut, gets a little more involved. the bigger the cut, the "worser" it becomes.
As stated, you really want to have the cut canted the opposite way. This lets the cut on the left fall away from the log on the right as it drops.
In the end, the "medium saw that could", did. After a little upgrade in the power & torque department she "handles" a 32 nicely.
Still not my favorite in the balance department, however.
