Shahre Rey, one of the oldest and most historical regions of Iran, is located in the south of Tehran, dating back thousands of years. The city, which was formerly known as "Raga", was an important civilization and cultural center in ancient Iran and has been mentioned in Achaemenid inscriptions and numerous historical monuments. Shahre Rey has many cultural and historical attractions, including the Toghrol Tower, Cheshme Ali, and the Tomb of Bibi Shahr Bano. The shrine of Hazrat Abdul-Azim Hassani (AS), an important Shiite pilgrimage site, is also located in the city.
