Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Smith & Jim Nichols meet Dr. Dum d'Dum - Swing 42.

Tommy Emmanuel, Richard Smith & Jim Nichols' original live version of "Swing 42" -- without a bass -- is fabulous. In fact, it's one of the best live improvisations I've ever heard. Please check it out at    • Swing 42  . It inspired me, and that's a fact!

And please check out the folks who captured this great performance at the 2018 Chet Atkins Convention in Nashville, TN -- Imrmax. They've got a wealth of great music at    / lmrmax  .

The order of the soloists in this performance is as follows: Tommy Emmanuel, Jim Nichols, Richard Smith, Tommy Emmanuel, Jim Nichols, Richard Smith, all and out.

I would like to dedicate this song to an old friend of mine, Bob Sims, who died night before last night at age 69. He died alone in his apartment somewhere in the vast shopping mall wasteland that rings Seattle. His mother had just died. He didn't have a car. And his health was failing. But that's not what I remember about Bob. I remember that Bob was a good man with good heart, and I hope this light, dancy song lifts Bob's sad and weary spirit and carries it heavenward!
