I took your advice and checked out the vibration produced by the ZWO ASI194MC fan and the possibility that is responsible for the elongated stars I was seeing. When I'm not doing astrophotography during the night, I'm doing vibration measurement and analysis during the day. So I took a small accelerometer and measured the vibration. Wow! That's a lot of vibration! Sure looks like fan vibration was my problem. Thank goodness it was not a broken primary mirror. Whew!
