Late Evening Plane Spotting at East Midlands Airport, EMA | 03-06-22

With Summer in full swing, it would be rude not to do a visit to East Midlands Airport, one of the UK's busiest cargo hubs. It was actually the Jubilee Bank holiday when I visited which meant there wasn't as much cargo activity as I was hoping for. Most of the flights operating for Royal Mail (Including Star Air, West Atlantic etc) were not operating on this visit. Fortunately there was still some good movements including 2 747s, some 767s, a 757 and more

There were also some rare and unusual visitors on this trip as well, including the vintage Mustang and Spitfire which departed to perform air displays at Midlands Air festival. I managed to capture those depart and return. In addition I also saw a very rare 737-800 leaving the paint shop, an ex Ryanair frame turned into FlySafair, a low cost carrier based in South Africa! The two 747s, one UPS and one Cargolux were also a highlight for me, always great to see the Queen of the Skies
