Photography on a budget: Part 5 Full Frame Cameras- Canon 5D Classic

Описание к видео Photography on a budget: Part 5 Full Frame Cameras- Canon 5D Classic

Continuing my look at 10 -15 year old cameras, I have purchased one of the first serious amateur cameras produced by Canon - the 5D Classic (or mk1)
This camera dates back to 2005 and was the first Canon CMOS based DSLR camera. With just a 12 M sensor, a 2 inch low resolution LCD screen, no video capabilities and not even weatherproofed this was an expensive camera in its day (£2700 at launch). The model I bought on Ebay was body only but included the BG-E4 battery grip for £268. You could probably expect to pay £200 - £250 for a body only model, in reasonable condition.
If possible have the seller send you a picture of the mirror. If it was upgraded by Canon after a recall for potential mirror bonding problem you should see two reinforcement strips on either side of the mirror mount. A certificate was issued, I believe, to prove the camera had been upgraded.
My model has a chipped mirror but does not interfere either with the optical viewfinder or autofocus but I may fit a new mirror if I decide to sell the camera at a later date.
