SEW a 1940's Blouse with me ~ Pattern drafting a puff sleeve & Sewing Simplicity 8447

Описание к видео SEW a 1940's Blouse with me ~ Pattern drafting a puff sleeve & Sewing Simplicity 8447

In today's video, I'm adapting one of my favourite patterns ~ the Simplicity 8447.
This time I'm sewing the blouse and I'm showing you how I pattern draft a high puff sleeve. In real life, I did this using the sleeve pattern piece for the blouse but in order to demo for you as clearly as I can, I'm showing you using my little quarter scale sleeve block. They're so sweet! I might have to make mini things with them too!

I realised that I left out a couple of stages when I watched back the video so (just in case you want to sew a long with me) After you overlock or neaten your armhole seams, pin the side seams together, sew and then overlock these seams.
I originally thought I wouldn't sew the pleats in the front and back bodices but I decided to once the blouse was finished and I tried it on. Boxy silhouettes don't work so well for me but you could easily leave the shaping for a more casual look.

I highly recommend this pattern and, if you'd like to make it, you can find it here:

And this beautiful Pima cotton was from Jacobs Haberdashery although I'm not sure they still have it in stock!

I hope you enjoy this sew a long and simple pattern drafting tutorial and let me know if there are other things you'd like to see drafted, adapted or sewn!
