Vans are a popular type of shoe for lifting and they've been used by strength athletes and recreational lifters from all walks of life for years.

In fact, one of the oldest debates when it comes to OG gym shoes is are you, "Team Converse or Team Vans?" Personally, I like both teams and enjoy Vans and Converse for slightly different reasons.

In this video, I discuss why certain Vans shoes can be decent shoe opinions for lifting, deadlifting, and squatting.

Are Vans the best shoe options for serious deadlifting and squatting? Not necessarily, but they're consistent and pretty solid across the board especially for beginners and intermediates.

Plus, Vans are shoes that you can rock to the gym and casually which does help give them an edge as being a good budget-friendly shoe with dual-purpose.

Personally, I like to rock Vans for my more casual bodybuilding-style training days due to their consistent stability and traction on machines and for static strength work.
