Mechanics for Smoothness

Описание к видео Mechanics for Smoothness

This video is week 1 of a 5 part series inside the Train 2.0 Membership on How to Skate like Auston Matthews. The remaining 4 videos are going to be kept inside the Train 2.0 members. Check out our website for the remaining weeks and any questions on anything feel free to email us at [email protected] . In this series, we’re diving deep into the drills and techniques that have made Matthews one of the most dynamic players in the NHL. This week, we’ll be focusing on the foundation of his silky skating skills: heel and toe control, as well as ankle mobility.

We’ll start by breaking down the inside heel, inside toe, outside heel, and outside toe drill—a key to mastering the full range of motion and achieving the incredible control that Matthews displays on the ice. I’ll guide you through each step, highlighting the importance of maximizing your rocker and the subtle but crucial ankle articulations that make all the difference.

By the end of this video, you’ll not only understand the "why" behind these drills but also how to integrate them into the Downhill Skating System for noticeable improvements in speed and control. Stay tuned for more drills and tips in the coming weeks as we continue to unlock the secrets of Auston Matthews' skating prowess.
