NYC Subway: Trains from Above at Queensboro Plaza

Today’s film is somewhat out of the ordinary. We are at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel near Queensboro Plaza. If you are a rail fan, I can truly recommend this hotel (ask for a room with “subway view”).

From the window of the room I had a stunning view of the BMT Astoria and IRT Flushing Lines as they approach Queensboro Plaza station. In addition, one can also spot many LIRR, NJ Transit and Amtrak trains from here. (Can you spot the Acela Express train?)

The footage was filmed between 9 and 10 am on a weekday. Although the rush hour already began to fade, there are still a lot of trains around, especially on the IRT Flushing Line.

I sped up the footage to make it look more interesting; it almost feels like watching a model railway!
