I was only messing around with the darkness effect before, I didn’t knew it was an ACTUAL thing!

Seriously, I swear, I actually only decided to play this custom map right after doing that video. I never would have guessed someone made an actual fight with the same darkness conditions, complete with plot justification and everything, wow. And it ALSO happens to be Saya!

Anyway. I decided to let the dialogue in for multiple reasons.
Mainly to prove that you are actually meant to fight in the darkness; this isn’t me missing the Light Orb (be it intentional or unintentionally), this is how the fight is SUPPOSED to play out. I am assuming the Light Orb is in some place you can’t reach just yet.

Or maybe you can reach it, and the dialogue changes or something (Since having the Light Orb would invalidate a lot of the stuff in the cut-scene, as well as the gimmick itself), but I doubt it because of the nature of this entire thing.

So my first thoughts of this was basically: Cool idea in concept, but maybe a little flawed in execution (too cheap), but then I realized the gimmick:
There are 2 lamp posts in this room. When you stand on them, the room lights up.
This is actually a clever way to make a boss fight tbh. I like it quite a lot, and makes it a lot more fair, and it’s also a unique twist not found in the regular game, very creative!... too bad I only realized this once I saw my own video a few times LOL.

Aside from the darkness, I also have a somewhat sub-par badge/item setup. That’s simply what I have found so far by exploring the map. In true Rabi-Ribi fashion, you could just go around and search for even more items than what you have to make it easier to beat the bosses. I did explore the area a bit more before doing the fight but that’s really about it.

Overall I am enjoyning this workshop/custom map. It is clearly meant to be more for exploring than the boss fights (In a regular game you get into fights every other room. Here, they are much more sparse). It’s quite fun, just different. Particularly if you are a fan of the early phase of the game about exploring new areas & hunting for items, you will enjoy this.

Because the overworld is even more open-ended than the regular game, you will likely end up with a pretty random selection of items/badges, which also will likely make bosses certainly harder than the regular game by default. Although once you collect a fair amount of items (Or just happen to find god-tier ones like Survival badge early), the difficulty does decrease. That is just like the regular game so no surprise there.

So I hope you studied the boss patterns, because you won’t be getting the Bunny Amulet until quite a bit later. (Fighting bosses such as Miru without Amulet, speed boost, mobility items and barely any Potions is actually quite difficult lol).
