In C Practice

Описание к видео In C Practice

Practice prep for performing Terry Riley's iconic classic, "In C." This is NOT intended as a performance of the piece, or a suggestion of how one performer might play his/her part. This simply goes through each of the 53 patterns, with the constant 8th notes as background, to give performers a chance to hear how the patterns should sound. Patterns are repeated anywhere from 4 to 16 times, depending on how long or short they are.

The running 8th note octaves are only on the left channel, so you can make them softer by fading your speakers to the right.

Note that the score (with performance instructions) is available here: http://imslp.org/wiki/In_C_(Riley,_Terry)

Although it's not indicated in this score the dotted quarter notes in patterns 22-26 are typically played as sets of three eighth-notes; this is more clearly indicated in other versions of the score.
