The Col d'Izord is a road pass, about 2360 metres high, which connects the Guil valley in the south with the Cerveyette valley in the north. The southern ascent to the Col d'Izoard turns off the D947 road in a north-westerly direction about 2 km south-west of the village of Château-Queyras. The road initially follows the valley cut northwards for about 8 km. It passes through the villages of Arvieux, La Chalp and Brunissard, among others. Shortly after Brunissard, the actual ascent to the pass begins, which initially leads through wooded areas in many hairpin bends. The landscape then becomes more barren until it leads through the "Casse déserte", a rocky desert with an impressive rock needle. The total ascent to the pass is around 14 kilometres long. The road is two-lane, very well constructed and has a marked cycle lane throughout. The passage over the Col d'Izoard has been a stage of the Tour de France several times and is a popular destination for cyclists and motorcyclists.

The road is located in the department of Hautes-Alpes in the province of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.
