An extremely rare move by a man who’s known to not mince his words.
He has publicly criticized Iran and its proxies for the mess West Asia is in.
He has relentlessly attacked Hamas in the last year.
Gone for the Hezbollah’s jugular in Lebanon in the past month or so, killing its boss and top military commanders
So is Iran next on Netanyahu’s radar?
The idea is to make a distinction between ordinary Iranians and the oppressive regime that governs them.

Iran finds itself on the backfoot.
Even before it could avenge the killing of Hamas boss Ismail Haniyeh that took place in Tehran on July 31st, Israel got rid of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah.

Anticipating an Israeli strike, the supreme leader has been moved to an undisclosed, safe location.
The regime is rallying public support, exemplified by this rally held in downtown Tehran to protest against the killing of Nasrallah.
That most of the participants were women in orthodox Iran suggests the backing of the regime.

Netanyahu senses the mood of despair among Iran’s mullahs. And so he is striking when the iron is hot.
Iran is warning against any Israeli misadventure.
Just hours after Netanyahu’s address, the Israeli military launched Operation ‘Northern Arrows’
It entails limited, localised and targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist targets and infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

These targets are located in villages close to the border and Israel says they pose an immediate threat to communities in the north.
A video put out by the Israeli defence forces shows tanks and troops in the northern border preparing for the next phase of combat.

Defence Minister Yoav Gallant who visited the troops said Nasrallah’s killing was not the end of the story. And that more needs to be done so that those who fled the war in northern Israel can return to their homes.

U.S. President Joe Biden, who has had little success so far in urging Israel to rein in its assaults on Hezbollah or on Hamas in Gaza, is calling for a ceasefire
There’s no sign of Netanyahu relenting. He did not… even when Biden warned him against launching a ground offensive in Rafah.

A surface-to-air missile launcher facility of Hezbollah positioned about1.5 km from Beirut’s international airport has been dismantled.
Israel said it posed a threat to both the Lebanese and international airspace

US secretary of defense has called up his Israeli counterpart and agreed on the need to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure along Israel’s border. He also warned Iran against making any direct military moves against Israel.
