Chiara Cavalieri: From the diffuse city to the horizontal metropolis - Going Public lecture #16

Описание к видео Chiara Cavalieri: From the diffuse city to the horizontal metropolis - Going Public lecture #16

In this lecture Chiara Cavalieri brings Urban Horizontality and the intermingling of infrastructure into play. Urban characters, relationships, mixed uses, diffuse accessibility- generate a specific inhabitable space. Beyond an outdated ‘center versus periphery’ opposition, the concept of a horizontal metropolis reveals the scattered condition as a potential asset, rather than a
limit. The concept reflects on a vision of global urbanization that does no longer allow for “outside” areas and that will test the urban ecosystem to its limits.
