While the steel mace probably isn’t the first training tool you think of when it’s time for a leg workout, it can be used to target your legs in a highly effective manner. As with most steel mace movements, steel mace leg exercises will engage your lower body in a uniquely dynamic way. If done with focus and the proper intention on tension, you can build serious strength, muscle and most definitely endurance in your legs, glutes and hips with the steel mace (aka macebell).

30-MINUTE STEEL MACE LOWER BODY WORKOUT

Equipment: Steel Mace & Fabric Hip Band (the hip band is optional). He uses our fabric hip band (aka booty band) for certain exercises to increase difficulty and so that he can engage the glutes even more.

Goal: Lower Body Muscular Strength, Endurance, and Hypertrophy

Muscles Worked: Glutes, Hamstrings, Quads, Hips, Calves, and Core (as well as some upper body muscles on certain exercises, after all, you need to hold the steel mace with your arms!).

Time: 30 Minutes

Workout Details:

Exercise 1: Ballistic Curl Squat x 20 reps x 3 sets

Exercise 2: Superset x 3 sets
- Reverse Lunge x 9 each side
- Offset Stiff-Legged Deadlift x 9 each side

Exercise 3: Superset x 3 sets
- Barbarian Squat x 9 reps
- Alternating Lateral Lunge x 18 reps (9 to each side)
