Obesity is an illness of excess fat storage. Morbid obesity is also a disease of excess fat storage, but it's when your BMI is 40 or greater. So in order to calculate your BMI, you're going to divide your weight in kilograms, by your height in meters squared. This is not a number that you're going to be able to figure out in your head, so you can go online, Google BMI calculator, plug in your height in inches, and your weight in pounds, and it'll tell you your BMI. A BMI of 40 or greater is considered morbidly obese.

This is also considered class III obesity, and it's a serious medical condition. This is because the higher your BMI, or the more obese you are, the higher the chances are that you're going to develop other illnesses, that are associated with being overweight. These illnesses include diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, sleep apnea and even cancer.

Morbid obesity is associated with a shorter life expectancy. In fact, we know that people who are morbidly obese are 50 to 100 times more likely to have a premature death. So if you discover that you are morbidly obese, you should definitely talk to your doctor and try to figure out ways to make healthy lifestyle changes, so that you can lose weight and become healthier.
