Baby Trendy Cutout Shoulder Top With Fared Wide Leg Pant Cutting and Stitching | DIY Baby Dress

In today’s video, I’m going to show you how to create an adorable and trendy outfit for your little one: a cutout shoulder top paired with flared wide-leg pants. It’s super stylish and perfect for any occasion. So, grab your fabric, sewing machine, and let’s get started!

Step 1: Materials Needed

• Fabric for the top and pants (choose a soft and comfortable fabric)
• Measuring tape
• Scissors
• Pins
• Sewing machine
• Elastic band
• Iron

Step 2: Taking Measurements
Begin by taking measurements for the top and pants. Measure your baby’s chest, waist, hips, and the length from shoulder to ankle for accurate sizing.

Step 3: Cutting the Fabric
Using the measurements, cut out the fabric pieces for the top and pants. For the top, cut out two front pieces and two back pieces. For the pants, cut out two front pieces, two back pieces, and two waistbands.

Step 4: Creating Cutout Shoulder Top
Place the front and back pieces of the top together, right sides facing. Mark the shoulder area for the cutout, then carefully cut out the desired shape. Repeat for the back pieces.

Step 5: Sewing the Top
Sew the shoulder seams of the front and back pieces together. Then, sew the side seams to join the front and back pieces.

Step 6: Adding Elastic
Cut a piece of elastic slightly shorter than the shoulder opening. Attach the elastic to the wrong side of the fabric around the shoulder opening, stretching it as you sew to create a gathered effect.

Step 7: Finishing Touches
Fold and hem the neckline, armholes, and bottom hem of the top for a clean finish.

Step 8: Sewing the Pants
Sew the front and back pieces of the pants together at the inseam and side seams, leaving openings for the legs.

Step 9: Adding the Waistband
Attach the waistbands to the top of the pants, leaving an opening for the elastic. Insert the elastic band through the waistband and secure the ends together. Close the waistband opening.

Step 10: Hemming the Pants
Fold and hem the bottom of the pants to finish off the look.
