Complete Restoration Littlestown Hardware Vise

Описание к видео Complete Restoration Littlestown Hardware Vise

Welcome! A friend needed a bench vise for his home shop and he had a rotating Wilton that was more vise than he wanted, so we traded. This vise by Littlestown Hardware and Foundry is the perfect fit for his space. It’s a no. 450 indicating it has 4-1/2” jaws, even though they measure closer to 4-3/4”. In good shape, just needed some love. The retaining screws for the jaws we so deeply set into the jaw face, they were locked in place because of damage to the faces. I had to grind out the area around the heads to get the screws out. The swivel bolt was cocked to one side because the washer on the bottom side wasn’t properly fitted. This caused previous users to tighten down harder (at an angle) which did cause some damage to the swivel bolt. I corrected this by re-threading the bolt and reshaping the washer so it would be more in line. Also had to file the bottom on the body of the vise so I would sit flush on the base. A good vise, I just don’t think these were finished that great from the factory. It will be a really nice vise for my buddy’s shop for sure. Thanks for tuning in and if you’ve read this far in the description, thanks for that as well. If you could drop me a comment and let me know what you like about this video, I would be most grateful. See ya on the next one!
