*NEW* Ploeger AT5104 prototype | Terra-Gator revival | Spreading lime

Back in 2017, when Dutch manufacturer Ploeger started building self propelled machinery for manure applications, it hooked on to a lot of Terra-Gator customers. Later that year Ploeger took on the spare parts and servive department for Agco's Terra-Gator machinery. The question from customers was: When will you build a 4 wheeled applicator? The AT5104 is the answer. It was already discussed in January of 2021 but the first prototype is now working in the field. It is seen here spreading liquid lime (Betacal Flow) which is a waste product from sugar beet processing.

The AT5104 has a 22m³ polyester slurry tank and uses a 550 HP Scania Stage 5 engine to power it. The Kessler steerable axles with 2,15m tall tyres (Mitas 1000/65R32) are familiar from the 5-wheeled machine. The pump is from Börger and the cutter from Vogelsang. The cab comes from Claas and the controls are the same as with other Ploeger applicators. The 4-wheeled model can work in crab steer mode to spread its weight evenly across the field.

This is the LNMS (Liquid Nutrient Management System) but there is also a possibility of mounting a spreader body or chaser for crops such as sugar beet. With its tank capacity it slots in between the smaller 3-wheeled AT4103 (16m³) and the larger 5-wheeled (26m³). It will also give Terra-Gator owners who prefer 4 wheels the ability of upgrade to a new generation of machines. The first models will be delivered for the 2022 slurry season.
