The Best of the Worst | The Modern Appliances In My House

Описание к видео The Best of the Worst | The Modern Appliances In My House

When I bought my house, it came with no appliances other than a General Electric dishwasher. I needed everything, and I needed it quickly so I could move in. Unfortunately in this part of the world there are little to no vintage appliances to be had. I searched for months between the time of contingency and the time of closing to try to find a good set of vintage units for the kitchen but was unable to come up with anything. I had to settle for that which was currently available at local retailers.

Just about all appliances made today stink, they're poor quality, unreliable, have complicated electronic controls, and just plain don't work well. I spent a considerable amount of time sifting through the various models still in production and came up with this selection of refrigerator, stove, exhaust fan, dish washer, clothes washer, and clothes dryer, which I believe are the most simple and traditional models still under production.

The stove exhaust fan doesn't leave much to be desired, but the rest of the units have some kind of shortcoming that vintage equipment just wouldn't have. The refrigerator's electronics controls don't allow for a precise enough temperature adjustment, the stove's mechanical control set was designed by an illusional engineer, and the dishwasher and clothes machines take an excessive amount of time to perform their task.

All that side, we're almost 1 year into operation of all this equipment and so far everything has operated properly with no breakdowns. How long that will continue for, only time will tell. I can't imagine long.
