Back in 2017 I had worked on my health and weight because I had reached a high of 210lbs. I lost a bunch of weight and sustained 160 until I got pregnant with my oldest child and I never got the baby weight off and with each child I had I just kept putting on weight. After going through a very traumatic second birth and loss of our second born my habits with food went out the window. Then I had my 3rd child, my daughter and I was at a weight I had never seen on the scale before 219lbs.

I had had enough. I didn't feel good in so many areas.

Here I am halfway to my goal weight. losing 30 lbs takes hard work and commitment, but it doesn't have to be challenging or expensive.

Sustainable healthy habits is key!
1) Track your food! Download MyFitnessPal and start tracking. See what you're eating, this will help you learn self-control and self-discipline with food.
2) Drink LOADS of water! You should be drinking at minimum half your body weight in ounces of water. Add electrolytes to also help improve your hydration! My favorite is Relyte (which you can find on my Amazon Store Front).
3) Prioritize Protein. Aim for 30-50 grams of protein with every meal (this will be a game changer). Eat real food.
4) Stop snackings, grazing, and buying processed foods. If you focus on just eating whole foods and eating proteins, fruits, veggies, and healthy carbs (like sweet potatoes, GF sourdough bread, etc), not only will your food budget be happy, but your body will also appreciate it!
5) Intermittent Fasting. There are lots of mixed things online about this, but from my research and experience it really helps support my metabolism, digestive system, and energy levels. It has also not messed with my milk supply at all and my daughter is almost 1. My eating window is usually from 10am-6pm or 11am-7pm depending on the day and what I have going on.

As I continue on my weight-loss journey I have recently started making sure to get 10K steps in a day and 1 micro workout (that's 15 mins long) 5 days a week. I only did physical therapy for my diastasis recti and pelvic floor through The Birth Recovery Center founded by‪@nancyandersonfit‬. Can't recommend that program enough, I went from being able to fit my entire hand into my stomach and not feeling any abdominal wall to having no separation at all!

Sustainable weight-loss isn't buying into some eating plan or shakes or shot or pill. Those things don't help you cultivate healthy sustainable habits that help you lose weight and keep the weight off for good.

These healthy habits will be ones that I can continue even when I reach my ultimate weight goal and when I get pregnant again.

Keep it simple my friends! Weight loss doesn't have to be complicated or intimidating. Being healthy and stewarding our bodies is important as mothers, so stop putting yourself to the side and making excuses (I was there) and start doing so!
