이 춤은 남도 살풀이장단을 반주로 해서 추는 춤으로 한국춤의 특징인 정중동(靜中動), 동중정(動中靜) 그리고 맺고 푸는 기법이 주가 되어 긴 흰수건을 던지고 뿌리고 걸치면서, 한이 담긴 살풀이의 음률을 타고 추어지는 춤으로 매우 섬세하고 정교한 춤사위로 한(恨)을 이끌어낸다.
