1910 National Paveway Sewing Machine | Restore this 112-year-old antique sewing machine with me!

Описание к видео 1910 National Paveway Sewing Machine | Restore this 112-year-old antique sewing machine with me!

I've recently completed a light restoration on my #antique #sewingmachine, and it's ready to sew for the first time in many years! Take a look at this 1910 National Paveway #treadle sewing machine, and learn a bit about its history and how to use it. You'll also see how I cleaned a century of grease and grime from this machine and uncovered some gorgeous decals.

You can see another video about a Paveway machine here:    • Antique National Paveway Sewing Machine   ---- If you love antique sewing machines, ‪@wayneschmidt490‬ is an incredible resource. Seriously - go subscribe to his channel.

I purchased all of the cleaning and polishing products shown in this video on Amazon. I used sandpaper that ranged from 120 to 3000 grit, and 0000 steel wool. With both the sandpaper and the steel wool, I used ordinary sewing machine oil as a lubricant. I did a final polish of the unpainted metal parts with Simichrome metal polish, and I used a little sewing machine oil on a rag to do a final polish of the painted and decaled portions of the machine. The oil will help prevent chipped areas from rusting or rusting more in the future.

This is the first in a series all about cleaning and using some antique sewing machines from my collection, so be sure to subscribe so you don't miss a thing! There will be at least 4 more videos in this series.
