This was videoed in early to mid 1990's
Alderney is situated closer to France than Britain.
The islands are not part of the United Kingdom as such but rather are possessions of the British Crown with independent administrations. Their inhabitants are however British citizens.
The Channel Islands are very beautiful and well worth visiting in their own right, but this was just a visit to the Lighthouse.
Warning! Fog horn sounds at the end of the video.
