During the length of the game, Deus worked behind the scenes to control and consume the world. Unfortunately, the player doesn't learn much of Deus' existence until quite late in the game, even though its effects could be seen everywhere. This makes the would-be god a rather confusing and almost convoluted piece of the Xenogears world. Let's explore the existence of Deus and see if we can straighten this out.
