As new class 555 arrive, and crews are trained to drive them then we will see the Tyne and Wear Metro change rolling stock for the first time in 43 years. The current rolling stock of the Tyne & Wear Metro has been in action since the beginning of the service 43 years ago, they have received overhauls but are now really on their last legs. We see the 43 year old stock doing what it has done every day for 43 years at Callerton Parkway station. This is one of several parkway stations on the Tyne & Wear Metro. It is great, you can park here for a fee of £1.20, which I think is great value especially when compared to the main line station car parks.
