Often called ‘The Main Line of Mid-America’, Canadian National’s former Illinois Central line from Chicago to New Orleans is the primary artery linking the largest Canadian class one railroad to the gulf coast ports of the southeastern United States.

Part two of this two part series follows the former IC main along the Champaign Sub between Champaign, IL and Effingham. BNSF coal trains make surprise appearance as does Amtrak's Illinois Service trains and 'City of New Orleans'. Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific briefly appear around Tolono and Tuscola respectively and the CN power is quite diverse, from brand new 'Tier 4' GEVOs to IC SD70s!
