SUMMARY
15:43 Pros and cons of each method

This tutorial shows how you can set up page numbering in MS Word that starts as "page 1" on the second page of the document and is set up like "Page X of Y," where X is the page number and Y is the number of pages in the document.

The challenge with setting up this type of page numbering is that when you start numbering on the second page at 1, the number of pages will be 1 more than the last page number. For example, if you have a Title page that is not numbered, followed by four pages, By default, the page numbering for your four pages will be:
Page 3 or 5

Because there are actually 5 pages in the document.

This tutorial shows two methods to remedy this. One method uses a formula field that subtracts 1 from the number of pages. The other method uses a section break between the title page and body of the document and a field for the number of pages in the section rather than number of pages in the document.
