탄방동炭坊洞, Tanbang-dong
대전광역시 서구에 있는 동이다. 행정동과 법정동이 같다. 아파트단지와 주상복합건물, 다가구주택과 일반 주거지역이 혼합된 지역으로, 주민 휴식공간도 잘 갖추어져 있다. 문화유적으로는 도산서원이 있다.
대전광역시 서구의 북동쪽에 있는 동으로, 면적은 1.65㎢ 이다. 동쪽에 유등천이 흐르고, 유등천 기슭에 야트막한 봉우리 남선봉(南仙峰)이 있다. 동쪽으로 유등천(柳等川)을 경계로 중구 중촌동, 서쪽으로 둔산동, 남쪽으로 용문동, 북쪽으로 둔산동·둔산3동과 접한다
정부대전청사·대전광역시청과 가깝고, 대전지방식품의약품안전청, 서구 노인복지회관, 남선근린공원 등 행정기관과 휴식공간이 두루 갖추어져 있다. 문화유적으로는 도산서원(대전문화재자료 탄방동 왕버드나무(대전시 보호수), 탄방동 청동기유적 등이 있다.

It is close to the Daejeon Government Complex and Daejeon City Hall, and is equipped with administrative agencies such as the Daejeon Regional Food and Drug Administration, Seo-gu Senior Welfare Center, and Namseon Neighborhood Park. Cultural relics include Dosanseowon Tanbang-dong King Willow (Daejeon City Guard), and Tanbang-dong Bronze Age.
