The Perfect Assassin Build Does Not Exi... | Dota Underlords Standard Match | Lord of White Spire

Perhaps Swordsman has becoma my "go-to" build when I play Assassin, because I found it so much fun to play! This 6 Swordsman build needs specific item to make it easier though. That is, the Pirate Hat and Battle Fury. So I tried the other variation of this build which does not rely on said items, and I'm thinking about 6 Assassin and 3 Swordsman. This build still relies on Ember Spirit as main carry, along with potentially other Assassin if you can promote them into 3*.

About Battle Fury, I found that Ristul Circlet is a fun substitution for Battle Fury if you can't find one. However, its use isn't as straightforward. The damage output with Circlet is comparable with Battle Fury, but its requirement is rather complicated and you need to be careful not to interfere with other Demons.

About Pirate Hat, you can play this build without any. If you have Phantom Assassin and Ember Spirit on your 6 Assassin, you just need to put in 1 additional Swordsman to complete your 7-slot board and you're good to go. To take things even further, if you also have Templar Assassin and Faceless Void, just put in 1 additional Void unit (preferably 3* Spectre) to unlock Void alliance. That's a level 8 build. Combined with rolling strategy, you can unlock rather powerful Assassin build with this. Be aware that the potential main issue with this is rolling for Faceless Void because at level 8 your chance might be not high enough to get desired tier 5 units, that's why in this match I prefer to reach level 9.

What could have been done better

I think I forced my self too much to reach level 9. Well, reaching level 9 was my main idea in the first place, however I need to take into account about what happens in the game. I was pretty close to reach 3* Phantom Assassin earlier, and almost 3* Spectre later. If I were a little bit more patient and rolling a little bit more, perhaps I could have had a much stronger board.

Another thing is about Omniknight. I had severel options about him: either trying to promote him into 3*, or not playing him at all. Omni was being contested heavily in early-midgame, but most of my competitiors were wiped out. So perhaps I should have hold him longer, especially since I was only 3 away from promoting him. And rolling a little bit more in lategame should do the job. If I opt to not playing him, I could replace him with a Scaled unit, coupled with Slark to unlock the much needed alliance against Mage.
