Man Armed With Large Butcher's Knife Stands Off With Police | San Diego

10.23.2021 | 5:15 AM | SAN DIEGO - The male victim was home watching TV when his brother came to the residence and was either intoxicated or under the influence of a narcotic.

The suspect went into the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and attempted to slash his brother.

The victim was able to avoid the slash and was able to take the knife away from the suspect.

The suspect went back into the kitchen and grabbed a large 8″ chef’s knife and again went after the brother.

The victim fled and called the Police.

The Police found the brother outside and would not comply by dropping the knife.

The officer spent 20 minutes negotiating and asking the male to surrender.
At the end, the male started to take off his shirt and was getting ready to fight when an officer shot 2 beanbags at the suspect and he went down. (8:54).

Officers took the suspect into custody and he was taken to a local hospital for any injuries he may have suffered.
