Enkidu Voice Comparison (CV: Shunsuke Takeuchi) | Under Night In-Birth II [SYS:Celes]

I always liked how Enkidu returns to his stance after most attacks.

Enkidu is firmly my favorite Ryu expy in all of fighting games. Enkidu also has the unique privilege of being the most consistent antagonist in the series as he is both part of Amnesia during Hilda's bid at becoming a Re-Birth and with Kuon's crew with his return. Although in the latter case, Enkidu is allied with Wald too so his primary source of conflict is aimed back at Kuon at the end of the day since he will undoubtedly be his strongest opponent. He doesn't have much to say back to his former Amnesia colleagues and weirdly has no interesting dialogue with Chaos for some reason. I guess it's because Chaos was holding out on introducing him to Kuon for so long?

Enkidu's lines are pretty similarly voiced and I actually have a few lines that I prefer in 2 like his 22[B] but once again, it mostly seems like a direction thing. The video is shorter because Enkidu's lines aren't that varied which I do appreciate because he's characteristically a laconic person who lets his fists do all the talking. Still, they did update his lines to have some more variety in 2 and even changed up his 5BBB attack to have a different voice line to his 4B. UNI2 automatically has Counter Hit applied to his parry so it's pretty difficult to parse his parry lines but I did discern one of them while his EX parry did not share any lines from what I could hear. His 6C lines are also different, which is weird because most command normals across the cast retained their lines, but I kept it in for consistency. I played Enkidu a whole lot during [st] so this was one of the easier ones to make.

Shunsuke Takeuchi is a pretty recent VA all things considered but as you can tell his voice can get deep as hell. His performance was so good that a lot of people mistook him as the new voice for Kouma in MBTL. I was delighted in hearing him as Rolf in Unicorn Overlord and I would have NEVER guessed he was also voicing Jamie in SF6.
