Retire in Thailand, but as a 50% expat. Don't wait to live in Thailand. Maybe splitting time between
living in Thailand and your home country can make it happen sooner for you. Plus, if living in Thailand under 180 days a year there are tax advantages, visa benefits, huge health insurance advantages (at least if you are an American retiring in Thailand), not to mention several personal benefits. This is not just for retirees, but thanks to the ability for many to work from their laptops, they can live and work anywhere in the world. And to have a western wage but live in Thailand is a dream come true. Truly the best of both worlds.
