A Dream Life In Scotland

My friend Barbara and her husband Martin are living the life they planned for and dreamed of 50 years ago. They met and got engaged when she was just 17 and he was 25 and always yearned to have a smallholding. Barbara semi-retired 4 years ago after being the Head of Religious Education in the secondary school where we met 13 years ago, and went to live in Cornwall for another year before they decided to move to a tiny old-fashioned village called Ashkirk in the Scottish Borders, which is 50 minutes away from Edinburgh by train. Once in their new home they discovered an animal shelter called Noah’s Arc and have since rescued 2 pigs, 11 ewes and their lambs and 14 ex-battery hens who all now have a wonderful new home with Barbara, Martin and their 2 dogs Noah & Joshua. This really is an idyllic life and a dream-come-true after 50 years of dreaming. A beautiful story of a very beautiful lady.
