Having turned pro in 2007, Canard quickly established himself as one of the fastest racers in the country. During his rookie season, he clinched the 2008 250SX East Championship. In 2010, Canard secured his career first AMA 250 Motocross title & helped Team USA claim victory in the Motocross of Nations — the Olympics of Motocross. He continued to find success throughout his 450 career, scoring many podiums and victories, however his true potential was marred by injury.

Since retiring in 2017, Canard has continued to play an active role in the motorcycle industry. He is a test rider for American Honda and a coaching representative for the U.S. Motorcycle Coaching Association (USMCA).
