No Dig Garden problem and solution using green waste compost.

Описание к видео No Dig Garden problem and solution using green waste compost.

My No Dig beds, made over last winter where finally filled up in March this year, just over 5 months ago. They have been brilliant so far, but there have been a few little issues that I have noticed with the "green waste" compost that I used to fill the beds up with in the garden.

As the beds are still relatively young or immature, I investigated a couple of no dig bed corners to see if the soil below and compost above where starting to be mixed up by soil life, they are not, they are still two very different layers. Therefore, my plants this year have just been growing in the compost only with no connection to the mycorrhizal network that exists within the garden soil so my plants are not yet living in symbiosis with the no dig soil as they should.

The green waste compost is high in nitrogen and that couple with no direct connection to the soil has left some crops struggling. I diagnose this in the video and near the end come up with a solution for next year, if it is needed.

The problem and solution is there staring me in the face!
