Morning Rail Works at Thessaloniki Freight Station, February 2015.

A Friday morning at southwestern Thessaloniki, in Macedonia, Northern Hellas. The old station - which is now the freight station of the city - is "waking up" for another buisy day. The drivers, the workers and the controllers are drinking their coffee before go to their posts and do their duties. The locomotives are still cold but when the "warm" hands of the railroadmen touch them and the engine start up, they are ready for a long and difficult day at Thessaloniki complex. The morning shunts take place between 7:30 and 10:00 with the two locomotives - MLW MX627 A 456 and Krupp V60 A 104 - moving cars in the station and to the port. Then all the works stop until the arrival of the first freight train from Gevgelija (city at the south borders of Republic of Skopje).
