Gaylene Spolarich is an Indigenous woman, a mother and grandmother, caretaker, and active community member seeking the DFL endorsement in Minnesota's 8th Congressional District. She has worked in Tribal Government for 25 years for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe in programs that support the most vulnerable families and provide early childhood education to children. She was elected to 2 terms on the Palisade City Council and served as the Palisade City Clerk for 11 years. She has been married for 42 years to a Union construction worker (49er) and they are legal guardians to four young children who joined their family through foster care. She is a practical and progressive Democrat running on a platform that puts the health and well-being of people and places first in decision-making.
