Got a Whole in the Mesh?

There are 4 roads or pathways to the lymphatic system. The first is the lymph capillaries. They form a fine dense mesh found superficially in ALL loose connective tissue. They open and close via anchoring filaments. If these anchoring filaments are impaired, or missing due to a bite, kick or infection, they are unable to open and close to facilitate the movement of lymph. When this occurs, it results in swelling/edema.
