Signs Of Low Transmission Fluid: 5 Signs You Should Not Ignore. In this video I will talk about signs of low transmission fluid.

Here’s a detailed breakdown:
1. Delay with shifting gears- low transmission fluid can cause your car to have abnormal gear changes, for instance, it may take several seconds to shift from drive to reverse, other times it may suddenly slam into another gear, and other times it may shift faster than normal. All this is associated with a lack of enough pressure to change gears, attributed to low transmission fluid. It is advised to take the car to your dealer if you detect this sign.

2. Noises while driving- When your transmission fluid is enough your car should be shifting smoothly without making noises. When shifting gears on manual cars, you will hear loud grinding noises if the fluid level is low, while the noises produced in automatic cars sound more like humming or whining. These noises could indicate low transmission fluid and you should get the issue checked out by a certified technician.

3. Burning smell caused by overheating in the transmission system- Transmission fluid is responsible for regulating temperature in the transmission system. If the transmission fluid level is low, excessive friction may cause the system to overheat, producing a foul burning smell from the overheated fluid. If you notice this odor, it’s recommended to have your vehicle checked by a technician.

4. Transmission fluid leaking- If you notice fluid leaking out of your car, it is most likely that the transmission fluid is low. It is therefore recommended you get it checked out.

5. Puddles in your Garage or driveway- You should always check underneath your vehicle or where you park it for anything out of the ordinary. If your transmission fluid is leaking, you may notice a bright red translucent puddle. This is a clear sign that your transmission fluid is running low and you should visit the repair shop.
