DRISS is an interactive, monthly lunchtime seminar (via Zoom) focused on learning about the growing science of dissemination and implementation research and practice!

Seminar Description:
Kat Phelps, PhD, presents on how inviting community members to engage in the research process is critical to translating scientific advances into benefits for the broader public and extending the reach and relevance of those benefits to those in greatest need. This seminar explores how community voice was incorporated into the development of the Translational Science Benefits Model. The perspective of evaluation and engagement professionals, as well as those with expertise from lived experience, is also shared.

Speaker:
Kat Phelps, PhD, earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and her doctorate in Developmental Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. Kat enjoys working on projects that bring together community wisdom and research innovation to improve health equity. She feels fortunate to spend her days with people who are passionate about listening, sharing, learning, collaborating, and creatively reimagining health and wellness.
