My solution is to STOP using thoughts to undo other thoughts. It's like playing by "monkey business" rules with your brain. AND forcing yourself to focus on what you DO NOT want.
No wonder those "unwanted" thoughts only persist following this method.
My 3-step framework to dismantle negative thinking loops.
No strategy, meditation, reframe, or affirmation is required.
3 step framework
STEP 1: Identify your specific thought pattern by choosing from the examples of thoughts provided in the resource. ( 2 min read)
STEP 2: Notice yourself using this specific thought loop, by placing a tick on the tracker. ( over 3 days)
STEP 3: Audit your thinking. Use a 7-day audit tracker, write the thought and give it a score out of 10, how severe the thought affects you.
