Comrades Marathon 2024: What it's like running your first Up Run

Last year I conquered the Comrades Down Run. Just 15 meters over the line, a woman smiled at me and said: "Congrats on finishing half the Comrades!" Now I hadn't planned to come back to run a second Comrades but that thought stuck with me. And over the next eight months, it morphed into a desire to see what the Comrades Up run challenge would be like. Now I know. The 55-mile, 86km journey from Durban to Pietermaritzburg is a battle. It's joy, it's pain. It's heaven, it's hell. It's one of the best things I've ever done. This video is an attempt to capture some of that incredible journey. It doesn't do it justice.
